Alia Yachts in Turkey is planning for the debut of its all-aluminum, fully custom, 148-foot yacht SAN at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of September.

SAN is designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with naval architecture by Lateral Naval Architects. Power is courtesy of Volvo Penta and a quad setup of IPS drives.

According to the Alia shipyard, SAN has a fully open main deck from the stern to the bow, framed by sole-to-ceiling glass windows with sliding doors forward and aft.

“This design offers an unparalleled sense of openness and a seamless connection to the sea,” the yard stated in a press release. “SAN integrates indoor and outdoor spaces harmoniously, allowing for a straight walk from aft to forward and providing panoramic views through the expansive glass around the salon.”

Exterior deck furniture is designed to be multifunctional, so owners and guests can use it for any variations they want during dining, cocktails or sunbathing. Additional space can be found for relaxing far aft by lowering the bulwarks to expand the sunbathing area.

Belowdecks are four guest staterooms along with the owner’s stateroom.

SAN is a striking and innovative superyacht that highlights our strengths as a truly custom builder,” Gökhan Çelik, president of Alia Yachts, stated in the press release. “It’s projects like SAN that attract the best clients from all over the world, reinforcing our reputation as a leading custom yacht builder.”

Where is SAN right now? According to the shipyard, the yacht has completed sea trials and been delivered to its owners. Look for SAN to appear at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of September.

Alia Yachts in Turkey has delivered an 85-foot Bill Dixon design to the owners. The custom project is built in aluminum and composite, and has interiors by Alia in collaboration with CT Mimarlik.

The owner wanted an open-plan boat for contemporary living inside and out. Features on the main deck include a terraced deck with fold-down bulwarks and foldaway sliding glass doors at the covered lounge area.

Accommodations are for three guest staterooms on the lower deck, including the master stateroom forward. The owner could have ordered four staterooms on board but wanted spaces that were larger.

“This is a super-cool boat,” Gökhan Çelik, president of Alia Yachts, stated in a press release. “From the crisp exterior lines to the modern interior styling, she’s very modern with an unwavering attention to detail as found on our superyachts.”

Power comes from twin 1,350 hp Volvo Penta engines for a reported top speed of 22.5 knots and a range of 800 nautical miles.

What else is in build at Alia? The yard has eight projects under construction up to 196 feet length overall.

Vripack’s Defender Based on the Doggersbank https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/yachts/vripack-defender-based-on-doggersbank/ Wed, 11 Jan 2023 18:00:00 +0000 https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/?p=59496 The Dutch design firm developed the yacht for a repeat client of Turkey’s Alia shipyard.

The Dutch design studio Vripack has announced details about the Defender, a yacht based on the firm’s long-popular Doggersbank model.

Alia Yachts in Turkey had a repeat client who asked Vripack to develop the Defender, a 98-foot yacht that is intended to be used for long-distance exploration as well as weekend cruising.

The Defender has a high, flared bow and an exterior that Vripack calls “muscular and military in style,” with a gray steel hull and bare metallic details.

Outdoor amenities include dining and lounging areas on the main deck, as well as dining and seating on the flybridge, which is protected by a hardtop and a wraparound windscreen. A crane is also up top for launching toys that can complement a towed tender.

Two fold-down terraces are aft and are slightly raised to “avoid slapping waves” at anchor, according to Vripack. The terraces expand the relaxation space by nearly 12 feet.

Inside, there’s an open-plan layout along with extensive use of wood throughout the walls and overhead, and LED lighting for soft illumination.

“As with all Vripack designs, she has the capability for guests to spend longer aboard should they wish, but the onus is on sprawling space to get the most out of frequent short trips,” Bart Bouwhuis, co-creative director at Vripack, stated in a press release.

What are the overnight accommodations? The Defender has a full-beam master stateroom, a VIP stateroom and two guest staterooms with twin berths. There’s also two crew cabins.

Alia Yachts in Antalya, Turkey, has started construction on the 172-foot Alia Sea Club. It’s a 499-gross-ton yacht with exterior design and general arrangement by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture in the Netherlands.

The project is a custom build intended to carry a large number of tenders and toys. Azure has been working on the concept since early 2021. Construction will be in steel and aluminum.

Features will include a covered main-deck tender bay for a 42-foot guest tender, a 27-foot crew tender, a submarine, personal watercraft, sailing dinghies and sailing catamarans. There will also be a helideck and a 540-square-foot stowage space for what Alia calls a “complete inflatable waterpark.” The yacht will have a water-sports center for dive gear, Seabobs, surfboards and electric bicycles.

Accommodations will be for 10 guests and 12 crew. The bridge deck and sundeck will have spaces for parties and social events.

When is the Alia Sea Club 53m scheduled to be delivered? At the end of 2023, with a total build time of 24 months.

Sunseeker Predator 65

The Sunseeker Predator 65 joins the range of Predator models from 55 to 74 feet length overall. It’s offered with Volvo Penta’s IPS1200 or IPS1350 powerplants, providing what Sunseeker says is a top-end speed of 35 knots.

Owners have options with this boat, including the ability to add a wet bar or extended lounge seating aft. Belowdecks, owners can choose three staterooms for a maximum of six guests, an open-plan owner’s office, or a lower-deck galley or salon.

The tender garage can be specified as a beach club with free-standing furniture, a rain shower, lighting and built-in speakers. Draft on the Predator 65 is a Bahamas-ready 5 feet, 3 inches, and fuel capacity is 924 gallons.

Vicem Tuna Master 37 CC

Vicem Yachts in Turkey is teasing a new line of center-console boats called the Tuna Master series. The first model will be the Tuna Master 37 CC, built in fiberglass—and also offered as an express cruiser. Each version will be available with dual- or triple-outboard engine packages from 300 to 450 hp.

A top-end speed of 45 knots is projected with optional powerplants, while standard twin 300 hp outboards are expected to produce a top hop of 40-plus knots. Vicem says range for the Tuna Master 37 CC will exceed 350 nautical miles, with a Seakeeper gyrostabilizer on board for guest comfort. Carbon fiber and teak trim will be used in the design to create a yachtlike finish, and the hardtop will be built of carbon fiber too.

Alia Yachts 196

Vripack in the Netherlands designed this 196-foot vessel that Alia Yachts in Turkey has sold, with delivery scheduled in 2024. The owner is an experienced yachtsman who requested an ice-class hull for exploring the world with his family.

Interior volume will be 810 gross tons with seven staterooms, including a master forward on the upper deck with a walk-in closet, an owner’s lounge and a private foredeck. The six remaining guest staterooms (two with twin berths and four with double berths) will be belowdecks, all accessible via an elevator that goes up to the yacht’s sun deck. Aft, the beach club will include a massage room, gymnasium, dive store, steam shower and what Alia calls a “chill-out zone.”

Azimut Verve 42

Azimut Verve 42

The Azimut Verve 42 got plenty of attention during its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida a few months ago. It’s a sibling to the Verve 47, which was designed for US yachtsmen and has sold at least 50 hulls to date. Even before anyone saw the Verve 42, Azimut had already sold 10 of the boats.

With triple Mercury 450R outboards, the Verve 42 has a cruising speed of 33 knots and a top hop of 45 knots, according to the builder. The hull design is by Michael Peters, who has long been known for performance powerboats. Interior and exterior styling are by Francesco Struglia, adding Azimut’s Italian DNA to the package. For overnights, the boat can sleep as many as four people with one head.

Pearl 72

The signature feature on the new Pearl 72 is the existence of two master staterooms on board. One is forward with a private entrance, while the other is a full-beam space amidships. The builder sees this layout as an ideal solution for couples who want to co-own a yacht, or for couples who cruise regularly with other couples.

Guests are accommodated in two additional staterooms, each with a double berth. And there should be lots of natural light in those spaces, with exterior designer Bill Dixon having expanded the use of glass in the hull. Also note the full-length flybridge, giving owners options for how they want to lay out and use that space. Top speed, according to the builder, is 32 knots with optional 1,600 hp MTU engines.

Alia Yachts in Turkey has launched the 180-foot Al Waab II, which is being heralded as the longest steel and aluminum yacht below 500 gross tons in the world.

“Yachts are getting longer and wider, but owners still want to stay below the 500-gross-ton mark,” Alia President Gökhan Çelik stated in a press release. “We’ve seen increasing interest in this kind of yacht, and so to be one of the first with such an impressive project is an important milestone for Alia.”

Al Waab II is the first superyacht to be launched from a new 2,000-ton lift that’s part of an investment the Antalya Free Zone made into yacht-building infrastructure. Other improvements include new hangars for superyacht construction and refit projects in the region.

The Al Waab II build was completed in about two years, including delays because of Covid-19. Notable design features include a split-level master stateroom on the upper deck, in addition to other staterooms for a total of 12 guests.

SF Yachts in Dubai served as the owner’s representative on the project.

What’s next for Al Waab II? After sea trials are completed, the yacht will be delivered to her owner, followed by a world debut in September.

Alia Yachts in Turkey has turned the hull of the 118-foot aluminum shadow yacht it is building to support the 180-foot Project Phi that’s in build at Royal Huisman in the Netherlands.

“This is a very interesting project for us which we foresee will provide a platform that can be adapted to meet the needs of other superyacht owners,” Gokhan Çelik, president of Alia Yachts, stated in a press release. “The principle challenge is that it has to be very fast but also versatile and efficient.”

The shadow boat that Alia is building is expected to come in at 199 gross tons. Specifications call for a nearly 1,700-square-foot cargo deck, a 485-square-foot lazarette and a 355-square-foot workshop. Tenders and toys will be carried on board, as well as a land vehicle and extra fuel for the mothership yacht.

“The exterior lines and details have been styled to resemble the mothership,” Cor D. Rover, who designed both vessels, stated in the press release. “So, there is a distinct family resemblance, but as a shadow vessel her prime function is to support the bigger yacht.”

Key details about the shadow vessel: She’s expected to have a range of 4,200 nautical miles at 12 knots, with Caterpillar C32 engines that provide a top speed of 21 knots.

Alia Yachts in Turkey has delivered the 102-foot Virgen del Mar VI, a full-displacement yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure.

Exterior design on the 235-gross-ton raised pilothouse yacht is by Omega Architects in the Netherlands. Interiors are by British-based Redman Whiteley Dixon. The main-deck master stateroom spans nearly 250 square feet with glass doors to port and starboard that access a private terrace forward. Four additional guest staterooms are belowdecks.

“There are plenty of 30-meter yachts out there, but most are production boats and none of them offer quite the same volume and degree of customization or bespoke design features,” Alia President Gökhan Çelik stated in a press release.

The shipyard hasn’t built a production series in the past, focusing instead on custom yacht construction. That appears poised to change thanks to interest in yachts similar to Virgen del Mar VI.

Virgen del Mar VI started as a one-off project, but we have letters of intent to build further units with fully customizable interiors,” Çelik stated in the release. “We’re also developing a 37-metre and 50-metre version based on the same platform.”

More about Alia Yachts: Çelik founded the yard in 2008 with business partner Ömer Koray. Alia can build in carbon-reinforced composites, steel and aluminum. Virgen del Mar VI is the shipyard’s 10th delivery in a fleet ranging from 80 feet to nearly 200 feet length overall.
